World Sight Day is an International Day of Awareness, held annually on the second Thursday of October. This year World Sight Day falls on 13 October 2022, the day aims to take action, help raise awareness and support Sightsavers’ work to combat avoidable blindness. ‘Love Your Eyes’ is the Theme for World Sight Day 2022. The theme stresses the need for awareness about our eye health and the need for taking care of our eyesight. For this purpose, we must get our eyes tested and encourage those we know to go for it, as well. Our eyes help us navigate through our surroundings and perform every major task in our day-to-day lives. Vision thus has a direct impact on our survival and the quality of our lives. Eye health impacts education, employment, quality of life, poverty and so many other Sustainable Development Goals.
